Chester County Career Center recently competed at the State SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference. The conference was held at the TD Center and Greenville Technical College Campus in Greenville, South Carolina. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers & industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel, and is also a non-profit organization. Skills is an international organization to promote workforce education, and offers students great opportunities to learn more about their chosen fields as well as community service activities that allow them to use their unique talents. Skills organization have state, national, and international levels of competition in various career and technical fields. Students who win at the national and international levels receive scholarships, equipment, and the opportunity to participate in study abroad programs. This year’s winners are:


American Spirit – 1st in State: Myliyah Caldwell

Chapter Display – 1st in State: Clayce Reid & Kameron Givens

Commercial Baking – 13th in State: Harmony Reid

Cosmetology – 1st in State: Bailey Bridges

Electrical Construction Wiring – 23rd in State: Hakeem Brice

Electrical Construction Wiring – 25th in State: Martavius Peoples

Graphic Communications – 1st in State: Myliyah Caldwell

Graphic Imaging Sublimation – 4th in State: Clayce Reid

Mechatronics – 10th in State: Apriuna Brown & Timothy Helms

Mechatronics – 14th in State: Naquavis Davis & Brandon Church

Pin Design -1st in State : Ana Hernandez

Promotional Bulletin Board – 1st in State: Ana Hernandez

Restaurant Services – 6th in State: Skyler Watson

Robotics and Automation – 1st in State: Jenna Barrett & Brownie McCorey

Screen Printing Technology – 5th in State: Ana Hernandez

T-Shirt Design – 1st in State: Myliyah Caldwell

Welding Technology – 10th in State: Tevin Sanders

Each student who participate is a winner, and as such every student receives a certificate of participation. Today’s competitive workplace requires more than just casual knowledge to succeed. To emerge as a true leader, you must demonstrate a complete mastery in their content area.


 

Student(s) Spotlight

Chester County Career Center's DECA Students attended the South Carolina DECA Career and Development Conference.  Students competed with others across the state of South Carolina showcasing their Business and Marketing knowledge and skills.  Students who placed in the Top 3 of their Events will be attending Nationals in Nashville, Tennessee in April.
